About Dionne Kaye

Dionne is the heart behind Castle Mountain Equestrian. With a deep love of horses and the Colorado lifestyle, she is dedicated to helping riders, horse owners, and equine families find dependable tack, supplies, with thoughtful guidance for every journey.
Above all titles, Dionne is first and foremost a proud mother to four adult children and a loving grandmother to two. Her life's journey is defined by grit, creativity, and a lifelong devotion to animals, music, and healing.
Dionne's connection to horses began early—she fell in love with equines at age four and was training her first horse by age nine. Her youth also brought extraordinary moments, including singing for Michael Jackson in the 1990s alongside her sister and cousin. She went on to study music with a focus on education at Metropolitan State College of Denver before entering the corporate world with Merrill Lynch in Colorado and San Diego.
When life called on her to step up as the sole provider for her family, Dionne adapted with determination. She took an office position in her childhood home with Action Sprinklers, which taught her how to build and run Mult business's. The environment also reconnected her with equines through draft horses and a memorable Paint named Skippy, who inspired children's books. Driven by a desire to make a global impact, Dionne then dedicated 10+ years to nonprofit work with the Cheetah Conservation Fund, supporting international wildlife conservation.
Dionne's next chapter brought her to The Castle, where her creativity launched a musical, all while embracing holistic homestead farming, alongside horses, Highland cattle, alpacas, ducks, Mangalitsa pigs and dogs. At age 54, after facing a complex ankle break while rehabilitating a horse named Cisco—who suffered from a bowed suspensory ligament and stringhalt—their shared recovery ignited a new calling. Diving heart-first into becoming a certified Equine Therapist, Dionne founded Colorado Mountain Equine to help others heal through specialized therapy and high-quality care while enjoying great equine products.
As a twice-over survivor of colon cancer Mets to the lungs—in full remission since 2022—Dionne embraces every day with deep gratitude, living out her passion for sustainable farming and equine healing. She welcomes others to come share their journey. To many more years of helping others find their healing and path forward. Her Equine Therapy practice is a comprehensive practice framework built entirely around Presence, Consent, and Reverence, designed to replace industrial, outcome-driven clinical models with deep honor, stillness, and mutual agency.
